Meyppayat : During Kalarippayat


The Kalarippayat or Kalarippayatt or Kalarippayattu (കളരിപ്പയറ്റ്) [kaɭaɾipːajatːɨ̆] is an ancient martial art from Kerala, South West Province of India.

His teaching brings a better understanding of body control exercises started evolving from simple to more complex leg, but gentle twists and turns (legs, chest, pelvis ...).
The movements are inspired by animals like lion, rooster, horse, fish, boar, ...
Traditional teaching is composed of introduced legs, work postures, transitions, working with wooden weapons, working with metal weapons and the final stage the unarmed combat.

The style taught is the North, CVN Kalari line.
My Master Cecile Gordon was heard by Gurukkal (Master) Govindan Kutty Nair who founded a Kalari in Trivandrum.

- 45 minutes of preparatory work the body (release tension), preparation postures
- 45 minutes of practice: launched legs, postures and sequences (meyppayat).

Course open to everyone from 10 years.
There is no "grade" or struggle or competition.
